Media personalities Kamene Goro and Shaffie Weru are set to make a radio comeback with a joint show at NRG Radio.

Kamene confirmed the news through a post on Instagram on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

The former Kiss FM breakfast show host said the programme dubbed NRG Transit will air on Fridays from 3 pm to 7 pm.

The duo will host the show alongside renowned Disc Jockey Pierra Makena.

“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one? @nrgradiokenya,” Kamene teased her fans.

Kamene left Kiss FM in January this year after a three-and-half-year stint at the station.

There were claims that the radio queen was fired but she denied the reports, saying she parted ways with her employer because her contract had expired and “there was no need to renew it”.

“No, I was not fired. My contract was up by the end of this month (January) and there was no need to move forward with it… No beef with anyone,” Kamene Goro said in an interview shortly after her last breakfast show on January 27.

She previously worked at NRG alongside controversial content creator Andrew Kibe.

On the other hand, Shaffie Weru was fired from Kiss FM in March 2021 alongside his co-host Neville Musya and a popular Disc-jockey Joseph Munoru alias Dj Joe Mfalme after an uproar over their controversial remarks regarding gender-based violence.

The trio was accused of making insensitive remarks on the plight of Eunice Wangari, who was pushed off from the 12th building of a city building by a man she met on Facebook.
