Jimal Rohosafi claims money-loving girlfriends push men to success

Businessman Jimal Rohosafi has said that women who love money inspire men to work harder and achieve success.

In a post shared on his Instagram stories on Saturday, August 23, 2025, the matatu industry boss said that a woman’s desire for money can actually drive her partner to success, while a woman who is not materialistic may leave him in poverty.

“A girlfriend must love money to motivate her boyfriend to work hard. A girl who doesn’t love money might lead you into poverty,” Jimal wrote.

His latest statement comes months after he encouraged men to invest in the women they are with rather than abandoning them once they become financially stable. On January 19, 2025, Jimal advised men to remain loyal and build up their partners.

“When the money comes, do not change your girl, change her life,” he said at the time.

Relationship mentor

Jimal has in recent months been very outspoken about relationships, often urging men to take an active role in nurturing love. In a past post, he revealed what he called the secret to keeping a woman grounded in a relationship.

“Most men aren’t smart enough to realise that the higher you elevate your woman, the less available she is for other men,” he noted.

The businessman further cautioned men against breaking the spirit of their partners, saying that it only exposes them to others who may treat them better.

“When you break her down, you make her accessible to anyone she thinks will treat her better,” he explained.

Jimal, who has been vocal about matters of love and relationships, is currently dating Wangari Thiongo. He often refers to her as his wife. The two went public with their relationship in February 2023 after keeping it private for a while. In March of the same year, they welcomed their daughter. Wangari already had a child from a previous relationship before she met Jimal.

The businessman also shares two children with his first wife, businesswoman Amira. Their marriage came to an end after a highly publicised fallout that played out on social media.

Before Wangari, Jimal was also romantically linked to socialite Amber Ray. The pair began dating in 2020 and confirmed their relationship in December of that year while he was still married to Amira. In April 2021, Amber Ray revealed that Jimal had married her as his second wife. However, their marriage lasted only a few months. She later announced that the relationship had collapsed and that they had chosen to part ways.

Despite their separation, Jimal and Amber Ray were later seen flirting on social media, fuelling speculation about a possible reunion. The drama intensified in November 2022 when Amira publicly declared she would divorce Jimal, accusing him of disrespecting her by rekindling his relationship with Amber Ray.
