Actress Jackie Matubia underwent non-invasive surgery where an inflatable balloon was inserted into her stomach to lose weight.
Matubia opened up about undergoing the procedure in October 2022.
She revealed that she had lost six kilograms in one week from a starting weight of 105.5 to 99.3 kilograms.
“Today want to give you a small story about my weight loss journey. It’s barely one week and I have lost almost 6kgs,” she wrote.
In the latest update, Matubia showed off her amazing transformation just two months after undergoing Allurion balloon placement.
“Before meets after 2 months in with my Allurion gastric balloon and am a happy child!” She captioned her post.
Allurion Balloon
The Allurion balloon is a weight-loss balloon provided as a swallowable pill, which is turned into a gastric balloon in your stomach by a healthcare professional. It is the only gastric balloon that doesn’t require endoscopy or anaesthesia for its placement and removal. The total procedure takes less than 20 minutes!
Once in your stomach and inflated, the pill balloon fills up someone, so they are less hungry – making it easier to eat better, eat less, and form habits that last. [sic]
Rapid weight loss
Actress Catherine Kamau recently disclosed that she reversed the gastric balloon weight-loss procedure.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Kamau said she stayed with the balloon in her stomach for four months before she had it removed.
The mother of two lamented that she was losing too much weight very fast, revealing that in the first few weeks she lost 15kgs.
Kamau noted that she wanted to lose only about 20kgs but she had no idea that losing even 5kgs was such a huge difference in how she would look.
