Harmonise’s new look comes after a year filled with several hairstyle changes. Since early 2024, he has been experimenting with different styles that fans frequently linked to Asake. His blonde dreadlocks, which he unveiled at the beginning of 2025, drew reactions because many felt they closely resembled Asake’s signature look.

In May 2025, Harmonize switched to short blonde hair.

His constant hair transformations throughout the year kept attracting attention online, with fans debating whether he was intentionally embracing styles that looked similar to the Nigerian star.

Backlash

The “Single Again” hitmaker is among several Tanzanian musicians facing heavy backlash for openly supporting President Samia Suluhu Hassan during the recent election period. His arrival in Kenya has reignited that criticism, with many Kenyans expressing their displeasure over what they view as the artistes’ silence during the deadly protests that rocked Tanzania on November 29, 2025.

Harmonize landed in Kenya on Tuesday, November 18, but his presence was met with hostility online. Kenyan fans argued that promoters had failed to read the room, insisting it was the wrong time to have the artiste who campaigned for a government accused of suppressing dissent.

Many felt that his support for President Samia amounted to a betrayal of ordinary Tanzanians who were demanding accountability and transparency in the election process.

The backlash extends beyond Harmonise. Other major Tanzanian stars who endorsed Samia are also facing intense criticism. Ali Kiba recently issued a public apology to Tanzanians, admitting his endorsement had offended many. Diamond Platnumz wiped all his pro-Samia posts from social media after protesters threatened to boycott him and target his businesses. Several artistes, including Juma Jux, Billnass, and Shilole, have had their properties vandalised or set on fire as anger toward pro-government celebrities grows.
