From being admired to facing unexpected challenges: Nurse Judy reflects on her marriage
By Paulette Mboga, August 5, 2025Popular media personality and content creator Nurse Judy has opened up about her marriage journey, in an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, reminding her fans that not all marriages are miserable.
In a powerful and honest Instagram post, Judy shared her thoughts alongside a meme that read:
“Not everyone is miserably married. Some men adore their wives and see them as their best friends. And some women actually love, respect, and cherish their husbands, too. Healthy love still exists. May this kind of love locate you.”
Agreeing with the post, Judy gave a glimpse into her relationship, reflecting on how the early years of her marriage were filled with love and admiration. “The first five years of our marriage were like this. I used to wonder why other people couldn’t love each other the way we did. I felt like we should be the marking scheme for marriage,” she wrote.

At the time, she couldn’t understand why some couples struggled, saying their bond was so strong it felt like the perfect example of love. However, she added that trouble came later: ‘Heeh, my sister, kumbe satan was doing press-ups. He looked at me like, ‘Let me show you’.’”
Dark seasons
Judy’s post took a heartfelt turn as she opened up about the season in her marriage when things fell apart. “A few years in between, we were completely lost, and I think we hated each other,” she confessed, showing just how deeply their bond had been tested.
Despite the turbulence, she says they eventually found their way back to each other. “But the calm after the storm and chaos — this and more located us,” she wrote. “There’s nowhere else I would rather be, genuinely. This is not the kind where you’re together because you’re enduring each other, or for the kids, or for other funny reasons people use to stay in a dysfunctional marriage. We’re best friends now.”
Judy and her husband had publicly separated at one point but later rekindled their relationship. Their journey has become a relatable and inspiring story for many of her followers — a testament to the idea that even broken things can be mended with honesty, effort, and love.
