Former Machachari actress Sharon Mutuku alias Sophia has disclosed she broke up with her husband while pregnant with their third child.

Sophia, who was speaking in an interview with Mungai Eve recalled the tough decision of calling it quits while four months pregnant.

“I was in pain because I was going through a separation period. I separated from my husband when I was four months pregnant,” she disclosed.

The mother of three daughters who welcomed the thirdborn in March 2021 says she chose not to expose her pregnancy to avoid drama and is currently raising the kids on her own.

“I was in a very bad place. The baby is the one who gave me the strength to face the separation. That is why I named her ‘Hinya’ meaning strength. It was difficult because one minute you are together in a scan room and the next minute you are separated,” she recalled.

Sophia who has embarked on other endeavours says she was helpless after her divorce but she had to accept and move on.

She further denied dating her castmate Bab Gee referring to him as a good friend.

“I was pregnant while on-screen, the directors decided to retain me and created a storyline to revolve around my pregnancy. Bab Gee is my very good friend but I still get people asking if he is the father of my kids.

“People still ask where my ‘husband’ G is? We have never dated in real life, we are just good friends,” she said.
