Eric Omondi pleads for help to locate Roysambu girl abused in disturbing clip

In a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, January 5, 2025, the comedian reshared the distressing video of the girl sobbing in agony as a woman mercilessly lashed her, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and urging anyone with crucial information that could aid in finding her to come forward.
Eric added that he had overheard people speaking on Facebook and saying that she hails from the Lesedi school area of Roysambu.
“I am searching for this little girl… I saw a post on Facebook suggesting that she lives near Lesedi School,” the comedian stated.
Found sleeping outside
While appealing to his followers to provide any leads on her whereabouts, Eric highlighted that someone had discovered her sleeping outside, her body bearing fresh whip wounds, suggesting that the abuse documented in the viral footage was part of a prolonged cycle of torment.
Eric, who recently wowed his supporters after spearheading a fundraiser that amassed Ksh850,000 for a woman brutally beaten over for stealing wheat flour, added that reports indicated the girl also exhibited visible black bruises around her eyes.
“Apparently, someone found her sleeping outside, her body covered in whip marks, with dark bruises around her eyes, and when asked where she lived, she had no response,” he remarked.
Eric went on to clarify that the woman featured in the viral footage, who was seen savagely flogging the girl as she wailed in anguish, was her aunt and had been subjecting her to relentless mistreatment for an extended period.
He further noted that the child’s health had significantly deteriorated due to the persistent abuse, adding that her plight had deeply moved him, compelling him to step in and offer assistance.
“This is apparently her aunt, and she has been physically tormenting her, causing her health to decline. Please help me locate her,” he pleaded.
Video sparks outrage
The viral clip, which surfaced on Facebook approximately a day ago, has ignited widespread fury after a user by the handle @MissTerek shared it, expressing sheer disbelief at the level of cruelty inflicted upon the defenceless child.
In the footage, a woman clad in a red dress is seen ruthlessly thrashing the girl with a black leather belt, pinning her to the ground as the child’s piercing screams fill the air.
Moments later, another woman appears and attempts to intervene by shielding the girl from further blows, but the assailant remains undeterred, relentlessly pursuing the terrified child and continuing to strike her as she desperately shields herself with a pillow.
Ongoing humanitarian efforts
Omondi’s quest to locate the Roysambu girl comes shortly after he successfully constructed a home for a Kisii woman who had been brutally assaulted over allegations of stealing wheat flour from a neighbour’s house.
Similarly, Eric had first come across a viral video capturing the young woman being savagely whipped by a man before being forcibly escorted to the neighbour’s home, where she endured further physical aggression.
Deeply disturbed by the incident, he rallied Kenyans to contribute through his Sisi Kwa Sisi welfare initiative, and after raising over Ksh800,000, he proceeded to purchase land for her before building her a new home.
