Gospel DJ Samuel Muraya alias DJ Mo has recently shared his love story with gospel singer Size 8 and how he paid Ksh150K as dowry.

During an interview on Oga Obinna’s YouTube channel, DJ Mo recalled how he was just a struggling DJ who was trying to make ends meet living in Githurai.

DJ Mo explained how he had encountered Size 8 at various events before, but could not approach her due to his lowly status and the high-value suitors that were after her.

“At the time you should see the type of men who were pursuing her, wanaume wazito,” he said.

I used to live in Githurai 44 and sometimes I could not even afford to pay my rent,” he recounted.

The mix master revealed that it took a certain event and his friend Antoneosoul’s inability to keep a secret to make his dream of winning the musician’s heart come true.

“But this one time, tulikua Safaricom Live pamoja, alikua amesigniwa, it was around 2011, 2012, and I was with Antoneosoul, we were good friends, nikamsho vile nakuanga nimekufia uyu dem, Anto na yeye hawezi jiekea secret,” he narrated.

“Jamaa akaenda, akamsho ati unajua ule jamaa anakutaka, backstage, jamaa alikua apo alicheka adi miguu ikaunika, I’m telling ilikua abrupt, I’m broke,” he narrated expressing his embarrassment at the time.

The encounter, though abrupt and embarrassing for DJ Mo, led to a conversation between him and Size 8. As time passed, they began to communicate more and spend time together.

The DJ disclosed that before Size 8 quit secular music to embrace gospel music and her newfound faith, he took the step to ask for her hand in marriage.

“Before she announced officially that she had gotten saved I went to her home,” he said.

“I had 150k for her dowry and I had struggled to raise that,” he added.

The DJ also credited her mother for helping him get Size 8 to marry him; “One person who helped me have Linet as my wife is her late mum.”

In a recent interview, DJ Mo revealed that they have been working on building a family mansion and they have so far spent Ksh23 million with the project estimated to end in 2024.

“It’s our family palace, so we have to take time and customize it to our standards. We shall also import some of the fittings,”

He also revealed that the mansion was going to cost them a staggering Ksh48 million altogether after completion.
