Award-winning Tanzanian musician, Diamond Platnumz, has said his baby mama, Hamisa Mobetto, sought permission from him before she featured as a video vixen in Ali Kiba’s latest song titled Dodo.
The song was released three weeks ago, and has thus far been viewed at least 4 million times on YouTube.
Ali Kiba and Hamisa were, in early April, spotted together at a hotel in Zanzibar, where it is believed the music video was shot at.
Ali Kiba and Diamond Platnumz are perceived to be longtime foes in the supremacy battle for Bongo music mantle, with sections of Tanzanian media reporting that the two heavyweights never see eye to eye.
Then, how is it possible that Diamond’s ex-lover and baby mama, Hamisa Mobetto worked with his “enemy”? Did Diamond Platnumz know that Hamisa was going to work with Kiba? The Jeje star says he knew, way earlier!
In an interview on Wasafi FM last Monday, Diamond Platnumz said: “Ali Kiba has every right to feature anyone in his music videos. My co-parent, Hamisa Mobetto, also has every right to feature in any artiste’s music video.”
“Before she went to shoot the music video with Ali Kiba, she told me that the musician had approached her, and wanted to feature her in his upcoming music video. She told me, for sure. She said to me: ‘I am letting you know in advance so that should any rumours arise from Kiba and I working together, you would be in a better position to know what is true and what is false’. I told her: ‘you have all my blessings, and go ahead with your plan of featuring in Kiba’s song’.
Diamond Platnumz and Hamisa Mobetto have a 2-year-old son together.
