Crazy Kennar sets sights on Oscars with first movie release
By Ascah Mwango, November 25, 2025Kenyan content creator Kennedy Odhiambo, popularly known as Crazy Kennar, is set to release his first feature film, marking a major step toward his long-held dream of winning an Oscar.
The film, titled Iscariot, will premiere on his YouTube channel at 8 pm. on November 25, 2025.
In a post shared via his X account, he said that this project is part of his steady journey toward achieving his ultimate goal.
“Five years ago, I stated that I was on a journey to win an Oscar. Today I am releasing my 1st movie as the director and writer, step by step, till I reach the goal. I know I will get there,” Kennar stated.
The filmmaker has been steadily building his career, transitioning from short-form comedy to long-form storytelling. He is currently studying creative writing at AFDA in Johannesburg to sharpen his skills in filmmaking and storytelling.
Crazy Kennar has already earned recognition beyond Kenya. In November 2024, he won an international award in Nigeria, and his social media presence has grown steadily through creative content that inspires and entertains.
His previous film, My Name Is Omosh, premiered in February 2025 and was directed by Kenyan rapper King Kaka. Kennar wrote the screenplay and played the lead role, telling the story of a young creative trying to balance work, love, and personal ambition.
