Legendary Kenyan musician Colonel Mustafa left fans stunned after dramatically going down on one knee to propose to his ex-girlfriend, rapper Noti Flow, during a live show.

The unexpected gesture came as the two were promoting their new collaboration, Katika while appearing on Obinna TV Live show.

Mustafa, visibly emotional, presented her with a ring and poured out his feelings, expressing how much she still meant to him. He spoke about their past, his admiration for her, and his willingness to prove his commitment, even saying he was ready to make a permanent gesture in her honour.

Umekuwa is special to me since way back, and you still have a special part of my heart. Nakukubali sana… wewe ndo queen na niko tayari kupiga tattoo yako anytime. Can you be mine? We ndo nyota yangu,” Mustafa expressed.

However, Noti Flow was quick to dismiss the proposal. She appeared shocked and questioned whether he was serious, suggesting at first that it might have been a publicity stunt. When Mustafa assured her of his sincerity, even mentioning that the ring had sentimental value, she firmly rejected the gesture.

“You’re joking, right?” she asked, then added, “It’s a prank, right?”

“It’s not a prank, my mom gave it to me, it’s for you,” he assured.

But Noti Flow shot back: “Don’t bring your mom into this.”

Noti Flow explained that she was already in a relationship and felt that such a public proposal put her in an uncomfortable position.

“I’m seeing someone, you can’t do this to me, I’m gonna look bad,” she said.

Despite Mustafa’s repeated pleas for a second chance and his declaration that she was the one he truly wanted, she stood her ground. She reminded him that their appearance on the show was solely to promote their music and clarified that while she still had love for him, it was only on a platonic level.

“Please, we ndo uko na kila kitu nataka. Ukinichukua ntakuwa indebted kabisa. Take me back, we ndo nyota yangu.”

“Nilidhani tumekuja hapa tumalize huu mchezo, basi nisingekam kwa hii show,” a visibly disappointed Mustafa stated.

“Mi sikujua, si tumekuja hapa kupromote ngoma, I’m sorry, I love you, as a friend,” Noti clarified.

Noti Flow, Mustafa’s relationship

The pair share a complicated history that has played out publicly. They previously dated and collaborated on projects, with their relationship often marred by drama and public spats. In January 2025, Mustafa accused Noti Flow of assault, saying she had bitten and scratched him, forcing him to hide knives out of fear.

Despite their turbulent past, the two recently reconciled on a local TV station on August 15, 2025.

“Hii ni yako baby girl, today I want to say this, nimejua umuhimu wake, she is very important to me, to my career.” Noti Flow accepted, replying: “Yeah, I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t. He is a good friend too, and I forgive you,” Mustafa expressed.

Their reconciliation coincided with the release of their new song, which has already attracted wide attention.

Noti Flow herself had taken time away from the spotlight after the death of her father.

“A lot happened, and I had to take a break … I lost my dad … it really opened my eyes … you could be here today but gone tomorrow,” Noti Flow revealed during the appearance.
