Chebet Ronoh says people hate confident women who know their worth
By Paulette Mboga, October 6, 2025Digital creator and media personality Chebet Ronoh has aired her opinion about how society treats confident women, saying people dislike women who are proud of their abilities and self-awareness.
In a post shared online on Monday, October 6, 2025, Ronoh said she has come to understand that many people are uncomfortable with women who openly embrace their strengths.
She compared her experience to global stars like Beyoncé and Tyla, saying they, too, have faced criticism for their confidence and self-assurance.
Ronoh said people often twist her words and interpret her confidence as arrogance. According to her, this reaction comes from people who secretly feel threatened when women show that they know their value.
“People hate when you know yourself”
“I finally understand it,” she wrote. “People hate when you proudly know yourself and are confident in your abilities. They tore Beyoncé down for ‘Bow Down’ when it was literally the truth. They tear Tyla every day because she knows who she is and refuses to be controlled.”
Ronoh added that despite her achievements, people still try to belittle her. “Regardless of the evidence of my prowess, it’s like, ‘but you can’t say you’re better than others,’ which I didn’t. But that’s what you think about me—above you. So when I claim my giftedness, you are angry that I’m aware of it.”

The comedian and content creator said she will not lower her confidence to make others comfortable. She made it clear that she intends to remain proud of her talent and identity, even when it attracts negativity.
In another post, Ronoh said she struggles to believe compliments from others, claiming that many people who praise her are the same ones waiting for a chance to criticise her.
“I actually never believe anyone who says they are happy or proud of me,” she said. “No, you are not. And the second you get the chance to talk down on me, you won’t waste it. I only trust God, fam.”
Ronoh’s message comes during her ongoing frustration with fake support and judgment from those who can’t handle her confidence. Despite that, she maintains that she will continue standing firm in her faith and self-belief.
