Stand-up comedian who doubles up as a digital content creator Eddie Butita has made a special request to his long-term friend and fellow comedian Oliver Otieno alias YY.
Reacting to a video shared by YY after visiting his current girlfriend Noela’s parents for an official introduction, Butita, who feels like the father of one has moved on fast after ending his relationship with actress Marya Okoth, requested him(YY) to teach him skills to get a girlfriend.
“YY teach me these things,” Butita requested.
Butita’s love life
Little is known about Butita’s current love life, ever since he broke up with his fellow standup comedian and digital content creator Eunice Wanjiku Njoki widely known as Mammito on November 21, 2022. The SPM Buzz founder has not publically declared his romantic relationship status.
The comic guru has always been teased by his fans to get a wife whenever he is in the company of his friends Abel Mutua, Timothy Kimani aka Njugush and their spouses Cele and Judy.
YY’s current relationship
On Tuesday, October 20, 2024, the comedian shared his excitement, thanking God for the opportunity to meet the in-laws in Kamukunywa in Kimilili Constituency, Bungoma County.
This comes just two months after calling it quits with his baby mama.
“God, thank you for the honour of meeting her parents… I can’t do it without you. Help me give my all. Thank you for walking me into your father’s house,” he wrote.
Revealing the reason for visiting Noela’s parents, YY stated that a real man should man up and show his lover’s parents his true intentions.
“A real man must face the parents to table his intentions,” he added.
YY and Marya
Speaking to Milele FM’s Ankali Ray on October 19, 2024, YY revealed that while he and his ex-lover Marya Okoth weren’t legally married, their bond was more than a casual ‘come-we-stay’ arrangement.
“Let me put that straight and maintain some respect. In as much as we didn’t get married legally, it’s just the documents that we didn’t have. We treated each other as husband and wife. Papers are just a formality,” he declared.
YY also shared that he has fully healed from his previous relationship and is ready to move forward and it doesn’t matter how fast he has moved on. Rather, according to him, what matters is he is happy and has someone to run home to.
“It does not matter how fast or how long, what matters is how soon do you accept and move on. I work well when I know I have a home to run to. Men don’t want much from women, we just need moral support,” YY expressed.
“I have healed, if I felt bad about what happened in my past relationship, I did then. Now, I have healed and moving forward—even my ex-partner knows it.”
YY said he just wanted to focus on the future and make sure his new relationship flourishes. He made it clear that he had no intention of disappointing his current partner.
“The last thing I want is to disappoint this woman that I am with,” he stated firmly.
