Bodybuilder Gachau Njoroge explains how he stays fit with testosterone injections

Nairobi bodybuilder and fitness guru Gachau Njoroge has revealed that his extreme fitness regimen includes daily injections of testosterone and the popular antiparasite medication ivermectin.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with the Iko Nini Podcast on Monday, September 1, 2025, Njoroge said he takes one gram of testosterone daily and described the practice as essential for maintaining his physique.

“Right now, I am fine, and you cannot troll me. The education system taught you, and these side effects happen, and then also Google told you something, I do not know what. I take one gram of testosterone, and my life is good,” he said.

He warned that such high doses are not suitable for those who are unaccustomed, noting that even 500mg of testosterone can have intense effects on the body for ordinary users.

Njoroge claimed that his experience gives him a unique understanding of how these substances work and emphasised that he uses them safely under his own knowledge.

“But if you were to take even 500mg of testosterone and you are not used to it, oh… only I know how it works. It is okay to be average, so you stay average. Even today, before coming here, I injected myself with ivermectin and 500 mg of testosterone,” he added.

In addition to testosterone, Njoroge said he administers ivermectin, commonly used to treat parasites and occasionally referenced during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He explained that the injections are painful, comparing the discomfort to how cattle react to being injected, and revealed that his wife assists him with the process.

“I use them daily. Ivermectin is for parasites, but it was also used a little for COVID. I use ivermectin to remove parasites. I want to be ready for training while fit. Ivermectin is painful; it hurts to inject. It is like when you inject cattle; they jump,” he added.

Njoroge also addressed criticism and scepticism, stating that he does not operate from fear and urging others to understand that his routine is based on personal experience.

He defended his approach, saying it is part of his preparation for training and maintaining peak fitness levels.

“And my wife is the one who injects me. I do not operate from a point of fear. If you want to talk, go ahead and talk,” he added.
