Renowned musician and filmmaker Bahati has called upon Kenyans to come together and support one another in fostering the growth of the film industry.
As seen on his Instagram post on Thursday, July 18, 2024, Bahati emphasised the importance of collective effort and highlighted the need for solidarity to propel the local entertainment sector to new heights.
Bahati was extending a hand of support and presented his accolades to Daudi Anguka’s film dubbed ‘Mvera’ which is streaming on the popular movie app Netflix.
“When we Support each other the Industry Grows; when The industry Grows we all Grow! #MVERA a Kenyan Movie by @Anguka_Daudi is now streaming on Netflix… Go and watch a story well told,” Bahati remarked.

Bahati’s remarks come months after he launched his reality show ‘The Bahatis Empire’ on the same platform.
In an interview, Bahati talked about the money he spent on the production of his first season. He revealed he spent Ksh47 million on the first season, which he considered a small amount, adding that the next season would cost Ksh100 million.
“Hii ilikuwa season 1. The cost of production was Ksh47 million,” the father of five revealed adding that season two of the show will see more millions pumped in, projecting the cost to stand at Ksh100 million.
“So season 2 we are looking at going a notch higher…Maybe a Sh100 million. So yeah…” Bahati explained.
According to Bahati, the show has garnered international attention and viewers have requested it be added to their local Netflix offerings because of its success.
Bahati expressed his concerns in an Instagram post, responding to fans who asked why not all countries were able to watch the show.
“They didn’t realize that the Bahati family is g****l, that’s why I’ve told p****e to go tag and comment. Let them know that Kenyans are no longer just local,” Bahati added.
