Popular social media influencer and photographer Faustine Lipuku, alias Baba Talisha, has revealed why he still honours his late wife’s promise.

Taking to his official Instagram account on Monday, July 14, 2025, Baba Talisha explained that love does not end at death, adding that as a Luhya man, he cannot receive his daughter’s dowry or visit his current wife’s home before paying the dowry of his first wife Milka.

He added that it is not just a tradition but showing integrity to the mother of his daughter.

“To those questioning why I still honor my late wife’s traditions understand this: love doesn’t end at death, and neither does respect. As a Luhya man, I believe in doing things the right way. My late wife was Kikuyu, and before I can receive my daughter’s dowry or visit my current wife’s home, I must fulfill a promise to pay dowry to the family of the woman who gave me the gift of our daughter,”he said.

“This is not just tradition; it’s integrity. It’s honouring a woman who gave me life, love, and a child. Some won’t understand, and that’s okay. But my daughter will know her father did things right.”

Baba Talisha on second marriage

This comes after he revealed that he was yet to pay dowry for his second partner, Miss Wanjey, because of a vow he made to his late wife, during a Q&A session with his fans on July 8, 2025.

He also revealed that he had not visited her family or made an official introduction.

“People may not understand, but my heart knows why I haven’t paid dowry or made that official visit yet. It’s not out of disrespect to the woman I love now, it’s out of a promise I made to the woman I once loved and lost,”Baba Talisha revealed.

“My late wife may be gone, but the vow I made to her about her dowry still weighs heavy on my soul. Until I honour that, my spirit won’t rest. Some promises live beyond the grave.”
