Amber Ray’s brother Ferdeh opens up on working with her, says clashes are normal

Speaking to YouTuber Trudy Kitui on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Ferdeh admitted that while they share a strong bond, working together is not always smooth sailing.
“Yes, disagreements at work. Yeah, we have had them; even the last time when we had a show together on Kiambu Road, we had a brush because of timing and lateness. Even today, coming here, we had a bit of a brush,” he said.
He explained that working with a sibling comes with unique challenges because of the deep personal history involved.
“It’s not easy to work with your sister because it’s someone you have grown up with and come from the same home. You also would not want to disappoint her,” Ferdeh noted.
Family brand
Ferdeh then emphasised his commitment to maintaining a high standard in their joint projects, aware of the brand they have built together.
He revealed that he could never deliver subpar work at a DJ gig, knowing the journey they have taken and the reputation their brand holds.
“For me, I cannot come to this kind of DJ gig and do bad work because I know where we have come from and how our brand works,” he said.
Despite the occasional wrangles, Ferdeh sees their differences as normal and part of their working relationship.
He praised Amber Ray’s leadership qualities in their partnership, saying he is happy that she always corrects him.
“Having wrangles here and there is normal. Amber Ray is a controller, and she controls me in a good way. She prevents me from doing bad things or upsetting clients. I also hold her in check at times,” Ferdeh said.
Ferdeh gave credit to Amber Ray for helping him build his own brand, acknowledging that creating a successful brand is a challenging and costly endeavour.
“Amber Ray is a big brand, and she has helped me build my brand. To be honest, building a brand is not as easy as people think. It’s expensive, but she has helped me build it,” he shared.
Breakup with Rapudo
When asked about Amber Ray’s personal life, particularly rumours about a breakup with her husband, Kennedy Rapudo, Ferdeh declined to comment.
He called the breakup rumours mere internet talk and said he was not in a position to discuss them.
“Whether she has broken with her hubby, that is internet talk, and I cannot discuss that,” he said.
He added a heartfelt note about his sister’s dual personality, explaining that while many know her as Amber, he knows her as Faith.
Ferdeh affirmed that she will always be his sister, regardless of what others say about her.
“People don’t know Amber has two sides: Amber and Faith. People know her by her Amber character, but I know her as Faith. She will always be my sister, and I do not care what people say about her,” Ferdeh concluded.
