Akothee and her ex-boyfriend Nelson Oyugi alias Nelly Oaks have severed all ties barely a month after they broke up.
The mother of five announced the breakup on April 21, 2022, in a post on social media. She said that Nelly Oaks had dumped her.
“Nimeaachwa imagine I am single again. Hii relationship usichukulie personal,” wrote Akothee.
She added that;
“Do you remember when I told you I am taken! Well till death do us part just parked and left! I am single again guys the road to relationship is always under construction.”

It appears the two ex-lovers had a nasty breakup. It has now emerged that they have ceased associating, working, or communicating with each other.
Akothee and Nelly Oaks have both unfollowed each other on social media.
Akothee went further and deleted all photos of Nelly Oaks from her Instagram account.
The singer’s ex-boyfriend was also conspicuously missing at her book launch in Nairobi while her ex-husband Jared Okello was in attendance.
The mother of five launched her book titled ‘Akothee Quotes’ at an event held at Eka hotel on June 4, 2022.
Akothee’s first husband noted that they had ups and downs during their marriage but nonetheless remained friends.
“I love you, Esther, I will continue supporting you, counsel with you and see you grow to greater heights,” Jared Okello said.
The fact that Akothee’s ex-husband was in attendance while her ex-boyfriend was missing suggests they still harbour ill feelings towards each other following their breakup.
The singer dated her ex-boyfriend on/off for many years. Nelly Oaks served as Akothee’s manager before they fell in love and started publicly dating.
