Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) on Sunday, January 29, 2023, announced traffic disruptions along the Eastern By-pass in Nairobi expected to last for three days.
In a notice to members of the public, KURA said the free flow of traffic will be disrupted to allow the contractor maintaining the road to lay the final surface dressing at the section between Embakasi Barracks and CRBC site camp.
The road works will begin as from 6:00 am Monday 30th January 2023 till 6:00 pm Wednesday 1st February 2023.
The authority advised motorists to drive with caution as they approach the section.
“Traffic marshals and police will be on-site to guide motorists so as to enable a smooth flow of traffic,” KURA said.
“Kindly bear with the situation as we endeavour to Enhance Urban Mobility.”

The Eastern Bypass allows traffic from Mombasa, destined for the central parts of Kenya to bypass downtown Nairobi, thereby reducing traffic congestion in the city’s central business district.
