Gospel singer Justina Syokau angrily reacted to claims that she is spreading super gonorrhea which is said to have struck the capital city.
Syokau addressed accusations of spreading the Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) on Facebook Live, wondering why some people are blaming her for spreading super gonorrhea.
“Wacha ni address this once and for all. Kuna watu walisema nilileta gonorrhea Kenya ati mimi ndo mimi ndo nimeleta hii super gonorrhea. Let me know from the comment section vile munaelewa na vile unajua na uniambie hio ni nini ata super gonorrhea muniambie ni nini. Kwa sababu mimi naskia asira sana nimekasirika sana. I have never felt the way I am feeling,” Justina Syokau lamented.
“Hao watu ambao wanasema nilileta gonorrhea Kenya ebu muniambie, mushare hii broadcast iwafikie. Muniambie how I am spreading the gonorrhea and how I have become the blame of gonorrhea in Kenya. Ebu mtu aniambie kwa comment section kitu kwa sababu naskia kulia sahi,” she added.
Syokau further lamented that she was deeply hurt by the accusations of spreading the STI to the extent that she had to ask her fans to explain to her how one contracts gonorrhea and spreads it.
“Yani hakuna kitu inaniudhi kama mtu kuniongelelea gonorrhea, wewe unajua gonorrhea ni nini? Muniambie gonorrhea ni nini, muniambie imepatikana aje, why are people talking like that about my song. Somebody is talking about gonorrhea in my song. Unawezaje kusema mimi niliimba kupanuliwa nkaleta gonorrhea,” she said.
Super gonorrhea
The Star newspaper on January 12, 2022, quoting a report by Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) was the first to announce the outbreak of super gonorrhea in the capital.
According to the KEMRI report quoted by the Star, the drug-resistant gonorrhea was isolated from a sample taken from one of the 24 sex workers in Nairobi last year.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and former nominated senator Millicent Omanga were quick to warn Nairobians following the reports about super gonorrhea outbreak in the city.
