A group purporting to be clergy from Rift Valley region has a perceived marginaliation by politicians giving money through church fundraisers.

In a video shared on social media, the group comprising seven men and one woman, held a press conference where they demanded that politicians who have been frequenting central Kenya churches also visit their region.

“The question we are asking here in Rift Valley is when will our day come? Are there no churches here in Rift Valley that can also be gifted?” said their spokesperson.

The group demanded a share of the ‘thing’ going around.

“In Rift Valley, we also have churches’ construction going on… it is very unfair that Central Kenya churches have been given more than they can handle and that is why violence is now being witnessed in churches there,” said their spokesperson.

The group demanded to have their “cake” before the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) deadline for exchange of old Sh1,000 notes on September 30, 2019.

The clergymen claimed that politicians are hastily distributing the money to beat the CBK deadline.
