Six suspects arrested over last week’s Sh72 million in a daring ATM heist in Nairobi have been arraigned in court.

On Monday, the prosecution requested the court to allow police detain the G4S heist suspects for seven more days to capture their accomplices and recover the stolen cash.

Prosecution wants to detain the suspects at the Langata Police Station.

Police told the court that they want more time to scrutinize CCTV footage from Standard Chartered Bank headquarters and prepare the suspects to be charged.

“That there is high likelihood that the respondents will interfere with investigations and evidence and others are still at large,” the prosecution said.

Police said they are yet to receive call data of the suspects and other key accessories in the “heinous crime of robbery with violence.”

Further, the prosecution said the suspects should be denied bail because they have refused to show police their respective residences or reveal their identities.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have already recovered Sh7 million from two police officers who were arrested in Kisii and Kendu Bay.
