Riruta OCS shot dead in shoot-out with colleagues

A police officer attached to the Riruta Police Station has been shot dead by his colleagues from Muthangari Police Station.

According to the police report, the police inspector was drunk and suspected to be armed when he scuffled with boda boda operators whom he threatened to shoot.

Following the scuffle, boda boda operators alerted police officers on patrol.

The officers ordered their colleague to surrender but instead he shot at them, injuring one of them on the left arm.

“The officers shot at him and on examination, it was found out that he was a police officer. He was armed with Ceska pistol and had fired seven rounds of ammunition,” read the police report.

The injured officer is receiving treatment at the Nairobi Women’s Adams Arcade Hospital.

The incident occurred at the wee hours of Thursday morning in Kawangware Coast area.
