A middle-aged man reportedly killed his 3-year-old daughter by slitting her throat with a knife before hanging himself in their house in Misakwani, Mumbuni in Machakos county.
Confirming the incident, Misakwani assistant Chief Alice Musau has said the reason behind the deceased’s actions has not yet been established.
“We received the information at 11 am that a man aged 35 years hanged himself in his house after killing his 3-year-old daughter,” Alice said.
Alice says the man’s wife’s whereabouts are not yet known but a manhunt has started as she is needed to assist police with investigations.
Police in Machakos have visited the crime scene and started investigating the cause of the heinous act.
