Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko yesterday stoked controversy yet again by threatening to expose prominent deadbeat fathers.

This comes a few days after disclosing a secret affair between Kibra MP, the late Ken Okoth, and Nairobi county Nominated MCA Ann Nthumbi.

Sonko has called on women with children born out of wedlock with politicians and other prominent personalities in the society to consult him for the men to be exposed.

“When sending details on which MP, senator, governor, businessman has impregnated you remember to send his full names and the position he holds plus any photos or videos of those happy moments so that we expose them.

By doing so, we will be helping in stopping the behavior of men running away from their responsibilities after impregnating our women,” Sonko wrote on his Facebook page.

He went on to give two mobile numbers (0722886600/0739555555) where women can reach him for assistance.

Plight of women

“If you are a male leader and you don’t want a child use protection, we must speak for the majority voiceless women in this country including orphans, widows, divorcees, single mothers and all the so-called slay queens,” Sonko wrote.

During a requiem mass for  Okoth, Sonko shocked mourners when he revealed in his speech that he was a witness to the former MP’s secret affair with Thumbi through which they got a son.

Sonko’s statement has since invited the wrath of several people among them two lawmakers who accused the governor of being insensitive to the plight of women.

“It’s utterly amazing that you are the governor of the great city of Nairobi. The fact that the city is full of garbage and is run down serves to show who is at the helm. As they say, garbage in, garbage out.

It says a lot about our elections and what calibre of leaders actually get elected or rig themselves into office,” wrote Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura.

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo wrote, “Why should it be your headache who I have it with, how I have it or how often I have it. Such a knowledge my brother, cannot help us deal with the cancer menace or joblessness in Kenya.”

They accused Sonko of using the Ann Thumbi issue to gain a mileage to help his dwindling political fortunes.
