Controversial city businessman Paul Kobia was arrested early Wednesday over claims that he conned a Dubai national out of his $1.7 million (Ksh174 million) under the pretense that he could supply gold of such a value.
K24 Digital understands that Kobia was arrested Wednesday morning alongside 14 other suspects at his home on Riverside Drive, Nairobi.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Serious Crime Unit carted off the businessman’s belonging, which is believed would help in hacking the investigations.
The suspects were driven to the DCI headquarters for questioning.
Police sources have told K24 Digital that the 15 will spend Wednesday night at Muthaiga Police Station and will be arraigned in court on Thursday, June 27.
