Sarah Wairimu, the wife of missing Dutch billionaire, Tob Cohen has been detained for 12 days to allow detectives conclude investigations into his whereabouts.
According to detectives, Cohen was last seen in a club in Parklands, Nairobi on July 20, around 3 pm where he is said to have met two women before he disappeared and his phone switched off.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are treating his wife as a murder suspect but have not yet confirmed if the Dutch international was killed.
Wairimu’s lawyer, Philip Murgor, said the police are not investigating murder and that if the police had a case they should bring it to the attention of his client.
The latest development comes amid pressure from the Netherlands Embassy in Nairobi and Cohen’s business associates to establish the billionaires whereabouts.
