A total of 20 Heads of State are expected to grace the inauguration of President-elect William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua at the Kasarani stadium on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Over 2,500 VIPs and some 60,000 Kenyans are expected at the event, according to Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
K24 Digital has established that several heads of state including Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique and Felix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are already in the country.
The three leaders held talks with the President-elect last night at his Karen residence ahead of today’s event.
“Kenya and Rwanda have a long-established relationship based not just on geography but mutual interests and long-standing partnerships on economic and security issues. We will seek to build and expand our cooperation for the mutual benefit of the citizens of our countries,” Ruto tweeted after a meeting with Kagame.
