Activist Boniface Mwangi has hit out at online trolls who accused him of abandoning human rights activism to become an ardent supporter of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya-Coalition presidential running mate Martha Karua.

Taking to his official Twitter account, Mwangi expressed confidence in his stance on the just-concluded election affirming good riddance despite his team losing in the election.

“I’m not worried. Not at all. I supported Raila & Martha who l believed deserved to run Kenya but they lost. Why they lost is a long story of deceit and betrayal. I have never been beaten or arrested fighting for myself, it’s always for other people’s rights. I will be fine. Will you?” he wrote.

Mwangi’s sentiments come just a day after the Supreme Court threw out a presidential petition filed by Martha and Azimo Chief Raila Odinga.

He had earlier congratulated President-Elect William Ruto after the Supreme Court upheld his August 9 victory.

“Congratulations President-elect William Ruto. May you always respect and uphold. the constitution.

The vocal Azimio supporter also urged Kenyans to remain peaceful after the apex court delivered its verdict on the presidential petition.

“Today is a big day for Kenya. The Supreme Court will deliver its ruling on whether IEBC conducted free and fair elections. We must be prepared to respect the Court’s judgment, whether we agree with the ruling or not. Let justice be our shield and defender. Maintain the peace.” he stated.
