Supreme Court allocates Raila, Ruto lawyers’ 3 hrs of presentation

The Supreme Court on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, began the hearing of the Presidential election petition filed by Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga, his running mate Martha Karua and seven others.

In the petition that seeks to challenge President-elect William Ruto’s August 9 win, seven judges led by Chief Justice Martha Koome will determine the fate of the election results announced by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati.

As the petition is set for a hearing tomorrow (Wednesday, August 31, 2022), CJ Koome has allocated varying timelines for the presentation.
