Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition party Executive Director Raphael Tuju now claims IEBC Commissioners Abdi Yakub Guliye and Boya Molu should come clean on their role in the disputed presidential results.

Speaking to members of the press at Upper Hill on Sunday, August 28, Tuju who has been adversely mentioned in affidavits filed in court by IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati and Guliye, denied claims that he attempted to influence the outcome of the poll.

The duo claims that the Cabinet Secretary, flanked by outgoing Busia Senator Amos Wako, met them at the Bomas Of Kenya and persuaded them to moderate presidential election results in favour of Raila Odinga, the Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition party candidate.

Guliye, Molu visit to Tuju’s house

Tuju denied the claims, further linking commissioners Guliye and Molu to underhand dealings.

Without going into details, Tuju questioned the duo’s visit to his house during the electioneering period.

“I want Prof. Guliye to explain to Kenyans what they came to do in my house and what the discussion was about. The drift of that discussion was more of auctioneers rather than Commissioners,” he said.

Threatening to spill the beans to police, Tuju dared the commissioners to deny that they paid him a visit at his residence.

“I want them to say they never came to my house; I will make the CCTV cameras available at my house in order to be investigated by DCI whether I’m saying the truth or not because to my house they came.”

At the same time, Tuju asked Chebukati to disclose the details of a meeting he allegedly held with former Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok and UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina.

Tuju made the allegation after admitting that he met Chebukati at 4 am on August 15, 2022.

“Chebukati should be honest enough to tell Kenyans what he was discussing with UDA officials Nanok and Veronica Maina as soon as we finished our 4 am meeting,” he said.

Tuju disclosed that the purpose of his visit was to discuss with the IEBC boss reports that someone was swapping Form 34As on the commission portal.

“The issue had brought up with him (Guliye) was that I had received intelligence from one of the IEBC officials, who complained that some Form 34As were being brought down and they were being replaced by other form 34As,” he added.

Tuju said he received the reports from a terrified IEBC official.

Apparently, the young man had tried sharing the details with the commission CEO Hussein Marjan, who allegedly brushed off his concerns.

“This gentleman was so terrified and he actually mentioned the case that he had been threatened by Marjan when he brought it up with him that he should not play with him, he will know who Marjan is,” he said.
