Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition running mate Martha Karua is exuding confidence as she heads to Bomas of Kenya where the presidential winner is set to be announced.

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) said Monday it was preparing to announce final results at 3 pm.

Karua tweeted at 1:08 pm announcing that she was heading to Bomas.

“All ready for Bomas,” Karua tweeted.

Karua confident of Azimio win

The Azimio second in command on Saturday, August 13, assured the coalition’s supporters of victory in the yet-to-be-announced presidential race.

Addressing leaders elected under the Azimio umbrella, Karua exuded confidence in the outcome of the presidential race even as the IEBC continued tallying votes.

“If you look at everything, including all the other seats combined, there is no way, no way, the tally can be against us. And by the way, we have tallied, it’s just that we don’t have the power to announce ourselves,” Karua said.

Karua further assured supporters that numbers from the coalition’s independent tallying centre point towards a Raila Odinga victory, saying they are only waiting for the electoral body to announce the official results.

“The forms were in the portal and we took copies and tallied and we know where we are and we know if we had the power by now we would have called it for ourselves but we will wait for that announcement. Please be upbeat and know that Kenyans did give us the opportunity to steer the nation and we are waiting for the official seal of approval,” she said.
