Nairobi United Democratic Alliance (UDA) gubernatorial candidate Johnson Sakaja has set up a parallel tallying centre.
Sakaja noted that he was only waiting for the official declaration by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). He said that he believes he has won the seat.
“We won Nairobi. Ignore the propaganda. They also tried to disrupt tallying throughout the night. They failed. Thank you, Nairobi for the overwhelming support. 56% is not a joke,” the senator stated.
The tallying in various Sub-counties is still ongoing with a few like Kibera and Kasarani having concluded and forwarded the results to the County tallying centre at Kasarani.
Azimio-One Kenya is confident of clinching a total of 14 out of Nairobi’s 17 parliamentary seats. IEBC is however yet to make official announcements in various races save for Kibra constituency.
The Nairobi Gubernatorial race featured UDA’s Johson Sakaja, Independent candidate Agnes Kagure, Polycarp Igathe of Jubilee, Kenneth Nyawamu, Denise Kodhe of LDP, Esther Thairu as an independent candidate, Harman Singh as an independent candidate, Kenneth Nyawamu of UPA, Nancy Wambui Mwadime of Usawa party and Cleophas Kio Mutua of Ford Kenya Party.
