There was a commotion at the Narok North tallying centre after Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) Magdalene Soita read results from Enaituyupaki polling station which agents of a gubernatorial candidate claimed were swapped with the results of his opponent.
While announcing the results for governor candidates, the DRO said that Kenya Kwanza governor candidate Patrick Ole Ntutu got 404 votes, which turned out to be the votes that his rival Moitalel ole Kenta had garnered.
Ntutu had 36 votes forcing the DRO who was announcing the result to confirm from the carbon paper which turned out to be true
The move was raised by Ole Kenta’s agents who claimed that there were more than three polling stations whose results were swapped and demanded that the DRO recheck.
Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina, who was in the room, demanded that the counting of votes for the disputed ballot boxes should be suspended and the agents and IEBC should recheck.
The commotion forced the county Returning Officer Julius Okwetu to intervene promising to investigate how the results in the carbon copy in the ballot box differed from the one in the 34A form.
