Voters, especially the elderly and the illiterate in Endebess Constituency, Trans Nzoia County, struggled to identify their voting streams.

Speaking exclusively to K24 digital, some voters said it took them over half an hour to get their streams.

“I was here by 5:30 am. I went to the notice board to find the stream I will vote in. I have been looking for my for the last thirty minutes,” an elderly woman said.

Another man said the names would have been arranged alphabetically to make it easier for them to identify their streams and save voting time.

“It would have been better for the IEBC to arrange the names alphabetically. It is very unfair to ask elderly people to look for their names on the notice board,” he said.

Endebess Constituency Member of Parliament Robert Pukose, who voted at Endebess primary school polling station, expressed confidence in the exercise.

“We are impressed with the smooth voting process. The turnout is also good. I must say IEBC is doing good,” Pukose said.

The lawmaker asked voters to come out in large numbers and exercise their democratic right before the closure of polling stations at 5:00 pm.

“This is a defining moment for our country. I’m urging voters to come out and vote for their preferred leaders. Nobody should be left out,” he added.

Endebess Constituency has 50,688 registered voters who will be voting today.
