The latest poll by research firm Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) has shown that Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition party is still the most popular coalition in the country.

According to the poll conducted between July 31 and August 1, the Raila Odinga-led coalition emerged top with 46 per cent.

On the other hand, Kenya Kwanza Alliance led by Deputy President William Ruto said as ranked second with 36 per cent.

“Likewise the country’s high degree of local pluralism, in none of the zones used by TIFA does either coalition attract the support of more than two-thirds of all residents, aside from Odinga’s ‘home-turf’ of Nyanza and Ruto’s of Central Rift 69% and 65% respectively.” TIFA said.

The number of undecided people stood at 16 per cent.

A previous poll conducted between July 21 to July 26 and released on Friday, July 29 also placed Azimio at the top with 47 per cent.

DP Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance popularity stood at 42 per cent up from 35 per cent in June.

“Looking at the distribution of support for these coalitions across the country, it is evident that Azimio’s highest support is found in Raila Odinga’s home area of Nyanza, even as it receives considerable support in Coast, Lower Eastern and Nairobi

“Similarly, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance is most popular in its leader’s backyard of Central Rift and in Mount Kenya,” TIFA said.
