Comedian Eric Omondi has discouraged upcoming artistes from getting married when their career is yet to pick.
The self-proclaimed president of comedy Africa argued most artistes tend to concentrate more on their relationships than their career.
Speaking from experience
The former Churchill Show comedian said he has had such experiences in his life and it nearly killed his career.

“I’m speaking from experience I’m speaking from what I’ve seen,” Eric said.
Eric Omondi message to established artistes
Eric also warned established artistes from concentrating too much on marriages and relationships.
He said he has seen well-established artistes who have failed because of getting into marriages and forgetting their careers.
“Lakini usanii I keep saying but people don’t understand me. I have seen many artistes wakididimia because of marriage. I would mention but I won’t. I have seen many artistes wakiisha because of relationships
“Nimeona wasanii wengi wakipotea sababu ya mapenzi. Relationships need communication and commitment responsibility and accountability,” the comedian said.
Diamond Platnumz: Getting married will ruin my career
This comes after Bongo star Diamond Platnumz clarified that he is not intending to settle down anytime soon.
In an interview with DW Africa, the singer said he will consider marriage when he is about to retire from music.
Diamond argued that marrying at the moment will distract him from producing good music and ultimately killing his career.
“…you know, I still wanna give them more music. I still wanna give them more good music,” the singer said.
He said he knows people who slowed down on their music careers after getting married.
“That’s what I have seen. From all of my friends. That’s why I feel like, let me give you guys the good music. The time I’m about to retire I will get married,” Diamond added.
