Cosmetic surgery is a type of plastic surgery that aims to improve appearance. Frankly speaking, plastic surgeries are very risky jobs, and their results are quite unpredictable.

There is a boom in plastic surgery, and people from all over the world are willing to invest and visit a country with the most qualified surgeons just so that everything works out as planned.

Most people prefer to do plastic surgery in foreign countries, especially for an aesthetic look. South Korea is best for plastic surgery and Seoul is an Asian or maybe world hub for this.

There is a place in Seoul called ID Hospital, it is so famous it has its own TV show. You can watch the episodes on YouTube. This institution is considered  Asia’s No.1 plastic surgery hospital. The rates of this hospital are a bit expensive as compared to India but cheap as compared to some countries like the US and, the UK.

Cosmetic surgery is a broad term used for a number of procedures. Maybe you ask if the changes are everlasting? Well, some are ever-lasting (such as rhinoplasty, sliding genioplasty, hair transplant and ear-pinning, etc) while others remain for 15-20 years like facelifts, and body lifts due to factors like natural ageing and gravity.

Here are some of the most popular types of cosmetic surgery:

1. Breast augmentation surgery

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty is a procedure that can alter the shape or size of breasts. It is performed by using silicone gel implants, saline implants, or fat transfer.

Breast implants are of two varieties, one needs to be replaced in 10-15 years while the other is for a lifetime. Results of fat loss procedures like liposuction remain fairly stable if you maintain a healthy lifestyle. So it basically depends on what procedure you choose.

2. Facelift surgery

Facelift surgery can correct loose, drooping, sagging, or wrinkled skin of the face caused by weight loss or ageing. In this procedure, the facial tissues are first lifted and then the excess skin is removed and repositioned in new contours.

Depending on how you look, you might not need a traditional facelift, just a bit of added volume. Some people age in a way that gives them wrinkles and saggy skin, others age by losing volume.

If you like the first description a facelift would likely be your best bet. However, if you just have a little bit of a sunken-in-look, maybe consider a fat transfer for facial rejuvenation.

3. Hair transplant

Hair transplantation or hair restoration involves transplanting hair follicles to thinning or balding areas of the head. It is considered to be the best solution to correct baldness permanently.

A hair transplant is a safe and the most effective procedure for hair restoration. However, it is always advisable you consult an experienced plastic surgeon or dermatologist who has expertise in performing hair transplant techniques effectively.

4. Tummy tuck

Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty can improve the shape of your abdomen by removing excess fat and skin, and tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall.

In a world where a flat abdomen and a great figure is a sign of a fit and healthy body, a protruding belly can be a blow to anyone’s confidence.

Undergoing a tummy tuck provides you with a body that increases your body image and self-confidence.

You can compare your own body to those you have always aspired to be like or as you used to be if the tummy came because of pregnancy.

5. Rhinoplasty surgery

Rhinoplasty is a surgery that is performed on the nose to enhance the shape or improve functionality.

It is one of the most aesthetic attentive jobs in plastic surgery that must be undertaken by the board-certified cosmetic surgeon. You are needed to have the first consultation with your cosmetic surgeon before having the surgery as it helps you in avoiding risk and discomfort if any.

There is an endless list of options available when someone wants to change something about their face or body. That’s the best part about plastic surgery.

Doing any cosmetic surgery is not just exclusive to female celebrities either, men are just as game to go under the knife in an effort to look their best, just remember that any surgery entails some risk. The deciding factor is the state of health much more than the chronologic age of you as the patient and the surgery you wish to undergo. Fun fact: some 90-year-old patients do much better than much younger patients.
