Modern Coast condoles with bereaved families following Nithi bridge accident

Modern Coast bus company has issued a statement following the Nithi bridge accident that involved one of their buses and whose death toll has now risen to 33.

Through their social media pages, the company sent condolence messages to the bereaved families and shared contacts through which the victims’ families can reach the company.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wish a quick recovery to those injured and undergoing treatment. The families and close relatives of the injured and departed souls can reach us on 0741748895,” part of the statement read.

Reports show that the 45-seater modern coast bus, registration number KCF 614 U was en route to Mombasa from Meru when it lost balance and plunged 40 meters deep into the Nithi River in Tharaka Nithi county.

The area has been marked as a blackspot.
