Popular actress Dorea Chege has denied dating former cast mate Ronald Ndubi, alias Victor Hausa of popular drama series, Maria.
Dorea and Ronald were rumoured to be dating months after the end of the TV show after photos and videos of the two surfaced online.
They later confirmed their relationship.
Just friends
However, speaking in a recent interview, the actress shocked many after claiming that she has never dated Ronald.
Instead, Dorea said they were creating content in a bid to stay relevant in the showbiz industry after the show came to an end.
“Ronald and I are good friends to date, we were very good friends and whatever we were doing, we were creating content. We met and talked and resorted to that as a way of making money. We were not dating, we were good friends,” she said.
Ronald confirms relationship with Dorea Chege
In an interview with Bridget Shighadi in August 2021, Ronald claimed that he had been seeing Dorea for a while.
He added that their relationship was serious and he hoped to marry her.
“Yes, I’m dating Dorea, she is my girlfriend and the wedding gown should be on the way… Harusi itakuja coz it’s in the plans. Yes, I’m dating Dorea and its serious and wedding bells is soon,” Ronald said.
Ronald also explained how what started as a friendship ended up to be a romantic relationship.
“We were friends’ first. I used to like how aggressive she is, with branding and stuff. So I asked her out for lunch then we went for a date; one date led to another date, we started hanging out together and we became best friends
“We started working on several projects together off the screen for brands and friends we went to where we are now,” he said.
Dorea Chege unveils new man
Dorea is currently dating DJ Dibul.
The actress unveiled her new man by sharing a video dancing with him and at some point, exchanging kisses.
The two love birds were dancing along to a love song by Ruby dubbed ‘Na Yule’ perhaps to pass a message to their fans.
“Kuna muda ningemwomba Mola akulete mapema, wewe ndio unayejua maumivu yangu (Sometimes I wish God brought you earlier as you are the only one who knows my ordeals)” part of the song goes.
