According to Paul Mwaura, the Gakoe village ‘Nyumba Kumi’ chairman, the mother of one was living alone at the time of the incident.

“This news perturbs us. It’s sad that the attackers did all manner of things on her body, some we cannot even mention in public, before they strangled her to death. It’s a sad day for Gakoe residents,” Mwaura said.

“Police have told us that they have contacted the DCI to go to the scene so they can take the body to the mortuary.”

The shocking incident comes at a time the constituency continues to report a spike in cases of insecurity.

Residents are now calling on the authorities to beef up security in the area to avert similar incidents as the country heads to a general election in August.
