Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has been freed on a persignal bnod of Sh50,000.

Mr Cherargei, who was arrested at his Elgon View home in Eldoret on Tuesday morning, had been transferred to Kisumu Central Police Station.

The Nandi senator was arrested for comments he made at the weekend targeting critics of the Deputy President William Ruto.

Mr Cherargei claimed that they are profiling people who are criticizing the DP for unspecified action against them.

Nandi Governor Sang who agitated for his release called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations head, Mr George Kinoti, to avoid “using unfortunate incidents to settle scores on leaders allied to the Deputy President.”
