Comedian David Oyando popularly known as Mulamwah has sunk millions into a project that will see him erect a huge mansion in his rural home in Trans Nzoia county.
The 30-year-old comedian recently showed his fans the construction progress of his house as he lamented about the price of building materials.
Mulamwah complained that the price of construction material had skyrocketed, noting that laying the mansion’s foundation alone cost him as much as the price of buying a new car.
“Mkiombea bei ya unga ishuke, kumbukeni kuombea pia simiti, chuma na mawe. Those things are expensive af! Foundation pekee ni kagari kazuri mahali (When you pray for the cost of maize flour to go down also remember to say a prayer for construction materials. Those things are so expensive. The cost of laying a foundation is enough to buy a good car),” Mulawmah wrote.
Mulamwah among celebs building mansions
The comedian joins celebrities like Khaligraph Jones, Otile Brown, Size 8 and her husband DJ Mo and former Maria actress Dorea Chege who are all building their mansions.
Otile Brown while speaking about his mansion in early June 2022 noted that building a house from scratch was more advantageous than buying one that is already built.
“For real buying a house is not the same as building one. Building is special,” he said.
The singer also revealed that construction works for his mansion would be completed in five months’ time. He said his bungalow had been under construction for the past two months.
“I am trying to finish this in five months inshallah. It’s 2 months old now,” Otile said.
Just like Mulamwah, DJ Mo also complained that his mansion was draining his bank account as he had already spent Ksh2 million yet the construction was far from over.
