A 21-year-old man suspected of killing his 17-year-old friend in Old town Kibokoni Mombasa county has surrendered to police.

Mombasa sub-county police commander, Maxwell Ogolla confirmed the incident stating that Imran Mohammed Abudulkadir was accused of stabbing Mohammed Abdulraham to death alongside Hajii Jiro under unknown circumstances.

“Two weeks ago, six youths were seen chasing the deceased, when they got hold of him, two of the suspects began attacking him before stabbing him to death and fleeing from the scene,” he said.

Jiro who is currently being sought by police was arrested and arraigned before the Mombasa law courts in February, he was charged with preparation to commit a felony.

“For now we need to gather more evidence, as investigations are ongoing with our officers from the directorate of criminal investigations (DCI). We will be recording statements that will help in the case so that the deceased’s family gets justice,”Ogola stated.

Meanwhile, Imran has maintained his innocence, stating: “The investigative agencies are aware of what transpired on the said day, it is true I was among those who were present at the scene of crime, but I was not involved in the incident “he said.
