Nairobi: 2 killed several injured in accident

Two people were killed and three others seriously injured in a grisly road accident on Kiambu road near Muthaiga area, Nairobi, on Monday morning, 7 am.

The head-on-collision involved a 33-seater matatu and a tractor.

Confirming the incident, Julius Kiragu, the area police boss stated that the matatu was headed to the Nairobi Central business district while the tractor was moving in the opposite direction.

Police noted that the driver of the tractor died on the spot after he was thrown off the wagon and run over by an oncoming vehicle.

The other driver was rushed to the hospital together with other injured passengers but succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Nairobi police boss cautions motorists

Following the incident, the area police boss urged motorists to be patient while driving to avoid similar occurrences.

“I urge motorists to exercise patience and avoid overlapping,” he stated.
