“Six Makueni MCAs to be charged before the Makueni Anti-Corruption Court on Tuesday, 31st May, 2022 for fraudulently claiming and receiving Ksh 175,018.50 each in full per diem for a trip to Dubai which had been privately sponsored,” part of the statement read.

The six; Timothy Sirei Maneno, Bernard Wambua, Cosmas Mutunga, Bensley Mwania, John Muli and Bernard Muthoka are set to appear in Anti-Corruption Court tomorrow, Tuesday, May 31 and will be charged alongside the then Clerk of Assembly, Edward Libendi, who facilitated the illegal payments.

“The private Dubai trip, which was fully sponsored by the then MP, Hon. Dr. Patrick Musimba, was undertaken from April 14, 2014, to April 21, 2014. Upon return, the MCAs fraudulently claimed and received the cash which they were not entitled to,” the statement further read.
