A 34-year-old man from Narok is nursing injuries at the Narok County Referral Hospital after his wife bit off his lower lip.

The victim, Benson Onsongo, says he and his spouse, Mercella Kwamboka, have been having unending domestic disputes.

On Monday, August 12, Kwamboka, 35, went to her husband’s workplace, demanding to see him so that they could resolve their differences.

When she was told that she couldn’t see Onsongo at that time, Kwamboka ran towards a nearby river, where she wanted to jump in a bid to commit suicide.

Some of Onsongo’s workmates, who followed her to the stream, managed to stop her from ending her life.

Onsongo, who was informed about the incident, went to the river bank, where, upon arrival, Kwamboka descended on him and bit off his lower lip.

Kwamboka, according to Onsongo’s sister, Nancy Moraa, was only introduced to Onsongo’s family in December last year.

Moraa claims Kwamboka is a highly-secretive woman, who wouldn’t even share her troubles with her husband, Onsongo.

Doctors at Narok Hospital say it is impossible for them to reattach the man’s lip, given it took too long before he was taken to the hospital.

Onsongo and Kwamboka, who have reportedly known each other for four years, have two children.

Police are looking for Kwamboka, who remains at large.
