Raila joined other leaders and dignitaries at the Othaya Approved School grounds to bid farewell to the late ex-President Mwai Kibaki.
Raila eulogized Kibaki
During his speech, the presidential hopeful recounted his relationship with the departed ex-Head of State.
Raila narrated how opposition parties united in 2002 under the leadership of Kibaki to supplant the KANU regime.
The unity would see Kibaki win the presidency albeit sustaining injuries from a fatal road accident just months before the general elections.
The ODM supremo stated that their partners in NARC and supporters panicked but he urged them to soldier on.
Raila further narrated how Kibaki’s handlers engineered the reneging of their earlier signed MoU that would have seen him serve as a prime minister.
“I said this is not Kibaki, let’s stay in the government,” he said.
