New mom Karen Nyamu is taking no chances with her campaigns even after the birth of her baby girl.
Karen today made her first official public appearance after giving birth last month on February 26. Nyamu held a meeting with a group of women dubbed ‘Hustler Women Brigade’ who will be joining her campaign team ahead of the August 9 polls.
Taking to her social media, Nyamu claimed that her new team will see her clinch the city’s senatorial seat with a ‘convincing victory’.
“Great interactions today at the Hustlers Women Brigade assembly Nairobi chapter!
“Thank you ladies for offering to be my campaign team in your respective wards as I juggle between my campaign program and breastfeeding baby Njeri. God will ensure that our efforts are rewarded with a convincing victory!” she wrote.
Notably, a recent survey by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA) showed that the controversial lawyer is currently ahead of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna in the Nairobi County Senator race.
According to poll results released on Thursday, Karen – who is United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) aspirant – comes second as the most preferred senate candidate ahead of other candidates including Sifuna, who has also declared interest in the seat under the ODM party ticket.
TIFA says that if elections were held today, Karen is likely to get four percent of the Nairobi votes ahead of Sifuna who is likely to get only three percent of the votes.
