Officers in Ruiru are searching for a driver who reportedly harmed his employer before taking off with an unknown amount of money.
In a statement by the DCI, the driver identified as Benjamin Munene Ndiang’ui, was employed by one Jane Muraguri, of Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA) Nairobi.
On the fateful day, he is said to have driven her to Clayworks along Thika highway as scheduled where he harmed her several times on her face using a kitchen tool.
He then transferred an unspecified amount of money to his M-Pesa account and took off on foot leaving the woman helpless.
The woman would later be rescued by a guard and was rushed to Kenyatta University hospital where she is still admitted.
“She sustained serious damage on her right eye, nostrils and mouth,” part of the statement read.
